MathifyX ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and web platform (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
This Policy applies to all users worldwide and complies with applicable privacy laws including but not limited to: the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and applicable state and international privacy laws.

b. Information Collected via Third-Party Login (Google / Apple Sign-In)
When you sign in using Google or Apple authentication, we receive:
Full name as registered with Google or Apple
Email address
A unique user identifier ("UID") provided by Google or Apple
Profile photo URL (if available and permitted by your settings)
We do not receive your Google or Apple account password. These services authenticate you securely; we only receive the data they transmit to us after you grant permission.

Practice problem attempts, scores, and accuracy
Streak data and XP (experience points)
High scores from game modules
Session activity (pages visited, features used)
Device type, operating system, and browser/app version
d. Google Classroom Integration (Optional)
If you voluntarily connect your Google Classroom account, we may access:
Course names and descriptions
Assignment titles and due dates
Enrollment information
This data is used solely to personalize your learning experience and is never sold.
MathifyX may offer premium features available for purchase via Apple's App Store in-app purchase system ("IAP").
Apple In-App Purchases
All transactions for in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple, Inc. through the App Store. MathifyX does not collect, store, or have access to your:
Credit card or debit card numbers
Bank account information
Billing address
Apple ID password
Any other financial or payment credentials
Apple's App Store handles all billing, receipts, and refunds. Your payment information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/) and Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
We receive only a transaction receipt confirmation from Apple to verify and unlock purchased features. If you have questions about a charge or need a refund, you must contact Apple Support directly at https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
Subscription Auto-Renewal
If you purchase a subscription, it will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged within 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings.
We use the information collected to:
Create and manage your account
Personalize your learning experience and recommendations
Track academic progress and generate performance insights
Enable leaderboard features (using your display username only)
Respond to support requests
Send important service notifications (not marketing without consent)
Comply with legal obligations
Improve, maintain, and secure the Service
Generate AI-powered practice problems tailored to your grade level (via third-party LLM APIs; no personal data is included in AI prompts)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract: To provide the Service you signed up for
- Legitimate Interest: To improve the Service and prevent fraud
- Consent: For optional features such as Google Classroom integration
- Legal Obligation: To comply with applicable laws
You have the right to: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request erasure ("right to be forgotten"), object to processing, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
MathifyX is an educational platform used by students of all ages. We take children's privacy seriously.
For Users Under 13 (COPPA)
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us personal information without consent, contact us immediately at marksheininwork@gmail.com and we will delete that information within 30 days.
For School Use (FERPA)
If MathifyX is used in a school setting, student educational records are protected under FERPA. We act as a "school official" under FERPA when access is granted by a school or teacher. Student data is used only for educational purposes and is never used for advertising.
For Teachers and Parents
Teachers who connect Google Classroom are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authorization from their school or district to use third-party educational tools.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, AI APIs) under strict data processing agreements
- Google / Apple: As described above, for authentication and payment processing
- Legal Compliance: If required by law, court order, or government authority
- Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of MathifyX, our users, or the public
- Business Transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (users will be notified)
All third-party service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the Account settings page. Upon account deletion:
Profile and progress data are deleted within 30 days
Anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., usage statistics) may be retained indefinitely as it cannot identify you
Legal hold obligations may require us to retain certain records longer
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, and secure authentication via Google/Apple OAuth. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to report any suspected security vulnerabilities to marksheininwork@gmail.com.
California residents have the following rights under the CCPA/CPRA:
- Right to Know: What personal information we collect and how we use it
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal information

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries. If you are located outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US or other countries that may not have the same data protection laws as your home country. We use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses for EEA transfers) to protect your data during such transfers.
- Account Settings: Update or correct your profile information at any time in the Account page
- Delete Account: Use the "Delete Account" option in Account settings to permanently remove your data
- Google Classroom: Disconnect at any time from the Account page
- Notifications: Manage notification preferences through your device settings
- Cookie/Tracking Preferences: Adjust through your browser or device settings
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., educational resources). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. For significant changes affecting your rights, we will provide additional notice (e.g., email notification or in-app alert). Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
